Publication style

Zine

We have decided to create a zine. this is because fit reflects a casual and light hearted approach and a ziine uses a cheap process of printing - as we need numerous copies it would probably be moe efficient to do this method of design. 

Stock

We waned to reate a fun, vibrant inetratcive elemnt to our designs and create one off's for our audience so we deced to print the zine on vibrant card stock. We used card and paper and had no order so the design looked different every time.

Bindning Pocess:

We experimented with processes of binding from saddle stick to stapled to finally using paper clips. We chose to do this so that the audience could interact with the publication and change the format by turning pages into mini posters / postcards etc. 

Edited photos

I have elected some images and edited them to see how they would look. I feel that they do work well with the background. I wanted to keep a 'rustic' vibe to the designs so choosing the crate background works well. I adjusted the image using vibrance and brightness to make the stock lighter as it photographed quite yellow. 

I do think these photographs have come out quite nicely and the style does suit the concept. I like the set up but I think that if I have more time I will get a photogher to create the shots. I would also like to create a 'set up' that is more specific to the concept.

Edited Images

From the photoshoot i thought it was necessary to edit the photographs. This is because i really wanted to colour to pop and look professional. I feel that the products would work del to gain the audiences attention and still inform the concept of motion and design. 

I think the overall design aspect looks more effective like this. I have selected only certain images to help portray the printed collateral of design.

Buisness Cards

Today I photographed my business cards. I wanted to make the colours pop on the design so I photographed onto a bright background. 

I like the design on the darker purple for the shoot. 

I wanted to get in the triplex printed business cards with a blue middle. It fits the reverse of the image. 

I think that i will never fully like my designs for my personal branding, it's just something that I find extremely difficult to design.

Website Development

I really want my website to be very simple and effective. The design works on a 3x3 grid formation that suits my business cards. I thought this would be quite a good link. 

Keeping the background white allows you to clearly see the projects and makes the images stand out/

The left hand column links with the images and both are clickable links and work together. 

I would like to be called Steph Buck in terms of design professionalism, It brings across a more relaxed tone, however i think that my name on business cards should be Stehanie as that is the first thing you see.

Film 2014 - Ring Bound User Manual - Evaulation

I think the processes of ring binding worked really well for my publication and allowed me to produce a easy to use publication. The design works to produce a quick processes of flicking to certain pages. it also includes brand guidelines and works well to confine and display the concept. 

I used printed.com for the fnal outcomes. They printed the design wrong however, and double printed the document which meant my publication had two separates sides. 

Brand guidelines: 

I really like the blue theme and on screen the blue is more vivd which allows for a eye-catching design, The rest of the text is black grey and white - this allows the blue to be bold and effective
