LTA Design Sheets : Applicatoin

To start developing the application I have drawn out some plans for layout and navigation. I really want to design to work for busy professional women. Each page is designed to be quick formative and easy to use
Pages include:

- Double up
- Sign Up and Sign In
- Sidebar
- My Tennis
- Woemsn Tennis News
- Location
- Live Updates

The design are very simple it was very useful to create these design sheets and site maps to layout my ideas and see what will work and what wouldn't.

YCN LTA - APPLICATION DESIGN SHEETS ONE

Beauty Application Research

To enhance the brand we decided to focus attention on an online presence.

We are keen to develop and application:

These is some research to help inform our ideas:

Interactive Aspects:

Splitting the app into interactive aspects appeals more to the audience. It allows for detail and personal use and exploration of the appa dn what it has to offer.

Layout:

A simple layout is key.
These designs allow for easy navigation as well as trying to keep that page interesting and relevant for the intended audience.

Content:

The content is very important to the app. You need to make sure the pages you add are relevant and will peruse the audience to use the app and explore its facilities

Colour

Can;t be too girly. It puts people off. The colours should be appealing but not over the top so the audience can fous and it doenst make the brand look tacky and unprofessional.

YCN : Tennis Logo experiments for Application

I went back to creating some design sheets that explored logos. I thought i could create an application for women tennis players promoting the befits and local courts + getting them partners.

I feel that a logo could unify the application. It could work with the LTA logo and be an almost sub brand to the website LTA already has.

Logo Experiments:

After looking through these experiments - I feel that it would become too much with the design. I quite like certain logos I have created but I feel it could confuse the audience and market if I created one that would work as a symbol.

I  think I would quite like to just use type as a 'logo' / tag line. I feel it would get straight to the point and cause less confusion. The design could work with the blue theme and link with the typeface LTA uses.

Creating the Nets

It was Beth's job to create the nets for the range, she started my writing out the right measurements.

Container sizes (height x width)

Moisturiser - 46mm x 110mm
Exfoliator - 66mm x 93mm
Body butter - 66mm x 93mm
Toning serum - 146.5mm x 47mm
Eye make up remover - 79mm x 37mm
Make up remover - 135mm x 43mm
Shaving foam - 146.5mm x 47mm
Face mask - 49mm x 93mm

Net sizes

Moisturiser - 61mm x 125mm
Exfoliator - 81mm x 108mm
Body butter - 81mm x 108mm
Toning serum - 161.5mm x 62mm
Eye make up remover - 94mm x 52mm
Make up remover - 150mm x 58mm
Shaving foam - 161.5mm x 62mm
Face mask - 64mm x 108mm

Once this had been decided we mocked up and example of the net and the pattern.

We felt that this design worked well. When the nets are mocked up and folded I feel that the design does work well and would look proffesional

Face mask

Body

Body butter

Beth created the nets and sent me the designs to see if they were right.  i feel that the design were correct and reflected the corret tone of voice that we needed to apply. tHE DESIGN WAS FUN AND BUSY and allowed us to be creative in our packaging so our labels could be simple and formative.

Products

Patterns have now been compled. So we decided that it was time to look at product range.

We decided the best possible outcome would be to split the product into FACE and BODY. the two different sections could have two different patterns applied to them.

Skin care

Moisturiser
Exfoliator
Face mask
Make up remove
Eye make up remover

Body care

Body butter
Toning/firming serum
Shaving cream

Each product would have a name that played on words in order to create a tone of voice that was appropriate and effective.

Moisturiser - Brighten Up
Exfoliator - Scrub Up Well
Face mask - Peel Away
Make up remover - Wipe Off
Eye make up remover - Wipe Off
